I don't actually know if there is a tradition of Family Fireplace in other countries, just haven't thought about it.
In Lithuania there is a tradition of giving Family Fireplace to newlyweds. Parents of both - bride and groom give them something like candle holder, with burning candle. Fire symbolizes love, warmth, faithfulness and life experience.
This one was custom made by me few months ago, and I just fell in love with making Family Fireplaces.
What do you think of this tradition?

..geras. Sorry, kad lendu su savo suvokimu-gal tik norėtųsi kokio "lietuviškesnio" augalo motyvo? Jei jau apie lietuviškas tradicijas. O šiaip jau mano pažįstamiems kažkada teko ilgai aiškint keramikui, ko jie nori... o čia-viskas jau yra. Šaunu.
